  • Diversion Safes Can Hide Valuables

Police say that the average home burglary takes less than 10 minutes. Burglars don’t have time to search every nook and cranny of your home...which means diversion safes are a smart way to keep your valuables secure. Designed to look like common household items, diversion safes keep guns, jewelry, money and more locked up tight!

Diversion safes come in all styles and sizes. Some are made to look like books and fit in neatly on your bookshelf while others look like wall clocks or even electrical outlets. Need a gun safe that looks like a globe or a jewelry compartment that looks like a hairbrush? Then https://www.sassylassysafety.com can help!

Burglars won’t expect your valuables to be hidden in the pantry or your bathroom drawers. Do you need an easy-entry diversion safe that blends in with the surroundings? Or perhaps a keypad-entry gun safe that looks like a desk clock? Consider diversion safes if you’re away from home often, stay overnight in hotels, or have a lot of visitors to your home. The easiest way to keep your important items hidden from thieves or prying guests is to stash them safely away in a diversion safe.

  • Pepper as a Protective Device

Most people would never assume that a type of seasoning used on a variety of different foods, including meats, potatoes, and even pasta, could come in handy in the form of a defense mechanism. Although most people wouldn’t think of pepper as an actual weapon, it’s used to create pepper spray that causes irritation and pain when it’s sprayed in the eyes.

When you think about it, there are different types of peppers that can make the eyes become watery simply because they’re naturally so spicy. Some innovative scientists decided to use a combination of ingredients containing pepper to put a product together that has now been use to help people fight off potential attackers for many years. Over the past several years, pepper spray has been put into convenient containers that are easier for people to carry around with them and use if and when they need to do so.

Pepper spray is a product many women and men carry around with them in their purses, bags, or even their pockets as a way to defend themselves if they’re randomly attacked by someone on the streets or at a party. However, it’s used as a method of defense during other situations as well. For example, police may use pepper spray to take control over riot situations. If someone is out in the woods and a bear is coming their way, they’d be able to use the pepper spray on the bear and possibly save themselves from a vicious bear attack.

Even though pepper spray is a product that has become increasingly popular over the past decade, there’s some evidence that shows certain peppers, such as red chili peppers, were once used by people living in India to defend themselves against serious attacks. It was even more popular in China where people would create pepper concoctions and then toss them at the people they didn’t like.

Although it may sound unusual, pepper became a valuable weapon for the people of China due to its ability to cause instant pain in a matter of seconds. There are some people in Japan who have been using pepper to defend themselves against attackers for the past several decades. In fact, police in Japan were once using something known as Metsubishi, which was a blend of chili peppers that would be placed in the eyes of criminals as a form of punishment for their wrongdoing.

It was over 30 years ago when pepper spray started to gain recognition as a weapon used to help people protect themselves without causing serious bodily harm or death. It’s since been used by law enforcement as well as post office employees who often need the extra protection because of dogs and different animals that may try to attack them while they’re outside trying to do their jobs.

Pepper spray is now commonly used by thousands of civilians. It first gained recognition as a self defense mechanism when used by postal workers in the United States. It wasn’t until 1991 when law enforcement finally started using the pepper spray. It’s important to understand that although civilians can purchase pepper spray and use it as a way of defending themselves against attackers, certain products cannot be used by civilians.

The good news is that the options available to civilians are completely effective at deterring potential intruders, burglars, and attackers. It’s been used by thousands of people to cause instant pain and uncontrollable burning on an attacker as soon as they’re sprayed with it. The pain and discomfort is so severe that it often lasts for up to an hour, giving a person who is being attacked plenty of time to run from the attacker and seek help right away.

  • ATM Safety

Using an ATM is a pretty ordinary task. You walk up, withdraw some cash, deposit a check - whatever it may be - and you’re on your way. However, in this day-and-age, criminals have become much more adept at accessing your account information and savings through underhanded technological schemes. Sounds crazy, right? Let’s explore some of the ways YOU can prevent yourself from becoming a victim of ATM thieves.

As always, be aware of your surroundings. If you spot a shady individual lurking around an ATM, don’t use it! It’s better to be safe than sorry (and without your money!).  You also may feel much safer knowing that you have a stun gun or a pepper spray device at hand.

Obviously, when entering a PIN, shield the screen and keyboard so those nearby can’t see. It’s a simple step that ensures others don’t learn your PIN or develop an idea of your transaction amounts.

Inspect the ATM for skimming devices and cameras before using your card. A quick scan for damaged or crooked pieces, extra attachments to the card slot, noticeable resistance when pressing the keypad, adhesive residue, and recording devices could save your account information from being compromised.

Refrain from counting or displaying withdrawn money. Put it in your wallet, your purse, your pocket - whatever it may be - and double-check it when you are no longer in public. To ensure the accuracy of your withdrawal, be sure to snag your receipt as well! Taking your receipt also works to keep your account information private and secure.

  • Seniors are not DEFENSELESS!

Yes, seniors are old. And yes, they may not move as fast as their younger counterparts. But that doesn’t mean they’re not capable of self-defense. The first thing to learn about self-defense and how to avoid being targeted by criminals is that you have to be aware of your surroundings.

When you pay attention to what’s going on around you, you’re less likely to find yourself in a self-defense situation. If victims had been more aware of their surroundings, the circumstances could have been avoided.

Here are things to remember that can lessen your risk of being victimized. And remember, it’s always better to avoid trouble than confront it.

    Walk with purpose.
    Keep your eyes up.
    Know where the exits are.
    Watch for suspicious people.
Avoid places that are known to be unsafe.
    Don’t go places alone.
    Run errands during the day.
    Don’t linger in isolated places.
    Don’t be distracted.
    Stay in well-lit areas.
Always be aware of your surroundings.
Keep your keys in your hand, ready to go.
It is better to HAVE pepper spray...and not need it...than NEED it, and not HAVE it!
